Backyard ponds?

Backyard ponds?

how do I keep birds from coming in and eatng all of the koi? I have covered it with a net but now can not see the new fish I have.One poor fish was too big for the bird to eat so he left it out the sidewalk to die.

   Instead of netting tie clear fishing line in a random fashion over the area of the pond, you won't notice it so much, but the birds will get their wings snagged and eventually will give up trying.

   get one of those fake owls or two and put them around the pond .. the other birds are scarred of owls because they kill them… or I personally would get a bb gun and a six pack …but i doubt you'll do that just go to a hardware store or home depot or lowes and get a couple owls…..

   I just had the same exact problem and what i did was put bird feeders in the yard away from the pond and that seems to help they lv my koi alone and feed off the feeders..

   Fake owls will only work for a couple of weeks until the birds notice they are fake and they will. Get a couple of barn cats and let them run around put a house for them next to pond. Or do the BB gun trick, but clean up the mess.
